A personal, effective work from two of my favorite artists right now. Textures weave back and forth to suggest struggles, acceptance, denials, fear, and celebration all at once. A wonderful album.

A recording that touches something ancient in us and brings a shift to places not yet discovered. It's hard to describe in any sensible way something that definitely mixes the spirit of Palestrina with the legacy of minimalism, reductionism and improvisation, although that's not really important here. A deeply emotional thing that doesn't talk about humanity, but speaks directly to it.

If a cold mountain stream had an inner life, it might sound like this. Meandering, refracting the light, tumbling small objects, eroding stone, calcifying, shutting out the world with a thick frozen skin, and cracking open once more. Small and powerful and utterly content.
